Yarn Bomb the Library- Stars, Planets, Rockets, Aliens!
Saturday, June 14
5:00pm - 7:00pm
Niles-Maine District Library
CommonsCrocheters and knitters join us for the fourth annual Yarn Bomb the Library. We are going to transform main entrance of the Library into a cosmic celebration of color and creativity!
Yarn Bombing is a type of street art where public buildings are decorated with crocheted or knitted materials rather than paint or chalk.
Join us at the main entrance of the library on Saturday, June 14 at 5 PM where we will yarn wrap pillars and attach knitted or crocheted stars to create a beautiful community art installation.
All ages are welcome and no previous experience is necessary! Help us stitch together a galaxy of fun — one yarn star at a time!
How to participate:
- Crochet or knit stars, planets, rockets, aliens — let your imagination soar!
- Projects must be 4-inches or larger
- Use bright colors in any and all combinations. Preferred colors: white, gold, yellow and blue
- Use acrylic yarn
- Drop off completed projects between May 18 and June 8, 2025, in the collection box located at the Technology Desk (lower level/computer area).
- Join Yarn Bomb Meetups with Knit Wits on Mondays, May 19, 6:30-8 p.m. and June 2 & 9, 10-11:30 a.m.
