Dr. Jason Sperb, author and film and media studies instructor at DePaul University, presents a slide-lecture on the war’s key role in the making of the Disney Studio as an American institution.
The Disney Studio had been the toast of Hollywood animation, but its fortunes declined on the eve of World War II. Disney would make a vital contribution as a prolific producer of educational, industrial and propaganda films in support of the war effort and would go to become "an American cultural institution."
