Learn how to keep your children safe at home, in the community, at school, and with their peers. This workshop will also help you identify risk factors and communicate your concerns to your child.
This interactive presentation will allow participants to express their concerns about a variety of safety issues that may impact their children and families around the following questions:
-What specific safety issues are of most concern to you?
-How do your own anxieties and fears get communicated/discussed/transferred to your children, directly or indirectly?
-How can you encourage your children to communicate their own anxieties/fears of unsafe situations or people (ie; playing outside or dealing with bullies) to you and/or other trusting adults?
-What community/school/faith-based resources can you access to address these concerns?
-What type of “boundaries or limits” do you set with your children as a guideline for their behavior?
-Q and A
