“So You Think You Know Shakespeare!” combines education and fun in a TV game show format, similar to that of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”
When we begin the broadcast, we welcome everyone and identify the possible contestants (first name only). We will then randomly select the first contestant.
The contestant will then begin answering the multiple choice questions posed on the screen by the host (me). Instead of dollar amounts, each question level is identified by a title from low to high (serf, squire, knight, etc., leading to king or queen (the highest level).
Questions accordingly start easy and progress in difficulty.
Each contestant has lifelines. 50/50 they can have two of the wrong answers removed. Ask the audience: the audience uses Zoom poll to recommend the right answer; ask an actor: guest actor from The Shakespeare Project who is part of the virtual audience offers his/her advice on the answer.
If the contestant gets the answer wrong, thank them and move on to the next contestant.
This online, virtual program will be presented using Zoom and is free and open to all.
