Commons Meeting Room A&BLearn why, when, and how to harvest, clean, and store your own seeds to grow next year’s garden from this year’s plants.
In this all-levels workshop, sustainability and garden consultant Katie Shamis of VK Gardens will use hands-on demonstrations to cover the basics of saving seeds from vegetables, herbs, flowers, and native plants. September is the perfect moment in zone 6b to explore mature seed heads and pods, so we’ll focus on which seeds are easiest to start with, how to keep varieties reasonably pure at home scale, and practical storage tips to ensure successful germination in seasons to come.
