Further Details About the Book Club
Join us for a three-part virtual book club to explore, discuss, and put into practice this approach to caregiving that focuses on how to foster healthy brain development, which in turn can lead to calmer and happier children.
Over the course of the book club we will explore together the science of how a child’s brain is wired and how it matures, gaining an understanding about how the “upstairs brain,” which makes decisions and balances emotions, is under construction until our mid-twenties. By learning more about and applying strategies covered in the book, you as a teacher and/or caregiver will gain insight to help promote and encourage healthy emotional development in children and enhance your capacities in how to best react and respond to their needs.
Important Info Regarding Zoom Link
You MUST be registered AND receive an email from the organizers in order to attend. A Zoom link to join the meeting will be sent out the morning of each book club. If you do not receive the invite by 5pm on the day of the book club, please contact April Lee at alee@nileslibrary.org
