Set in Poland during WWII, Anna and the Swallow Man is a story of survival, love, and sacrifice. Anna is left orphaned on the street when her father is shipped off to a concentration camp as part of the Nazis’ operation to wipe out Polish intellectuals. She soon meets a mysterious character she knows only as “the Swallow Man", and they spend the next four years hiding in the Polish forests, criss-crossing the lines of the Eastern Front. Check out a copy from the teen desk to read and discuss for our Coming Together celebration of Polish culture.
